چکیده

Droplet rebound dynamics on superhydrophobic surfaces has attracted much attention due to its importance in numerous technical applications, such as anti-icing and fluid transportation. It been demonstrated that changing the macro-structure of surface could result significant change droplet morphology hydrodynamics. Here, we conduct both experimental numerical studies impacting a cone identify three different dynamic phases by conditions, i.e., Weber number angle. The spreading retracting are studied for each phase. Particularly, it is found phase 3, where leaves ring, contact time reduced 54% compared with flat surface. A theoretical model based energy analysis developed get point which agrees well simulation result. Besides, effect angle explored. Finally, diagram distribution We given, can provide guidance related applications.

Modeling the splash of a droplet impacting a solid surface

A numerical model is used to simulate the fingering and splashing of a droplet impacting a solid surface. A methodology is presented for perturbing the velocity of fluid near the solid surface at a time shortly after impact. Simulation results are presented of the impact of molten tin, water, and heptane droplets, and compared with photographs of corresponding impacts. Agreement between simulat...

Droplet Impacting a Cantilever: A Leaf-Raindrop System

Previous studies show that air pollution and wind erosion, which damage a leaf’s epicuticular wax layer, can change leaf surface properties from hydrophobic to hydrophilic. However, the dynamic response of a damaged leaf to a raindrop impact has not been investigated and could clarify the direct influence of changes in wettability on early leaf abscission. In this article, we investigate how le...

Prediction of droplet dynamics on an incline

Droplet motion is important in discrete microfluidic operations as well as in emerging site-specific cooling techniques based on electrowetting. The present work reports on carefully characterized experiments that map the shape, advancing and receding contact angles, and contact area of droplets sliding under gravitational actuation as a function of droplet size and velocity. A pseudo-Lagrangia...

the impact of training on second language writing assessment: a case of raters’ biasedness

Droplet dynamics in confinement

This study is to understand confinement effect on the dynamical behaviour of a droplet immersed in an immiscible liquid subjected to a simple shear flow. The lattice Boltzmann method, which uses a forcing term and a recolouring algorithm to realize the interfacial tension effect and phase separation respectively, is adopted to systematically study droplet deformation and breakup in confined con...
